Spring/Summer 2026 is shaping up to be a season where footwear really can complete an outfit. This season is all about styles that balance comfort, versatility and great design - from elevated everyday sandals to fresh takes on classics that look good and work hard. As always, some trends are easier to get on board with than others (I'm really not convinced yet on ballet trainers - check out these from M&S).
As a personal stylist (and consumer), I love footwear that adapts to real life. I walk a lot so need comfort but also want my shoes to reflect my style and personality. So whether you’re curating a holiday wardrobe, want new footwear inspiration for the office or looking for statement pieces that finish off your look, Spring/Summer 2026 footwear offers smart, stylish solutions for every style personality.
So without further ado, here are my picks for Spring/Summer 2026. All images are clickable:
Trainers:
We know trainers are no longer just for the gym, they’re a wardrobe staple that effortlessly blends comfort and style. In Spring/Summer 2026, we've still got bold colour pops and retro-inspired designs that pair just as well with tailored trousers as with casual jeans. A versatile pair of trainers can elevate a casual outfit making them (thankfully!) a must-have for any season.
Loafers:
Classic yet contemporary, loafers are the perfect in-between option for Spring/Summer 2026. Think polished leather, soft suedes and playful details that make them suitable for work, lunch with friends or casual evenings out. Loafers strike the ideal balance between relaxed and refined, offering a great option for many personality styles.
Ankle Boots:
Still plenty of ankle boots on show for Spring/Summer 2026, bridging the gap between transitional weather and summer styling. Sleek leather, suede or Chelsea-esque designs make them perfect for pairing with cropped trousers, dresses or skirts. Whether you choose a minimalist silhouette or a statement heel, ankle boots add an edge to any outfit while remaining wearable in warmer months (which hopefully aren't too far off!).
Pumps:
Pumps remain a go-to for elevating outfits with a bit of sophistication. This season’s styles feature modern twists like block heels, square toes and bold colours that add personality while remaining classic. There really is a pump for all styles and tastes.
Sandals:
Dreaming of warmer days, sandals are the ultimate warm-weather essential, combining breathability and comfort with effortless style. This season, there are minimalist strappy designs, cushioned soles and statement details like metallic finishes or chunky heels.
Clogs/Mules:
Mules offer the perfect combination of ease and style, sliding on effortlessly while still making a statement. From sleek leather designs to cushioned, wide-strap options, they’re ideal for transitional weather and busy days when comfort meets chic. Pair them with cropped trousers, jeans, skirts or dresses for an effortlessly polished look.
Eveningwear:
As you can see I haven't included too many eveningwear options - but these 2 caught my eye. I liked the simple elegance and wearable heel height. The M&S ones are available in a deep red and tan also (in case those colours are more to your taste).
As a personal stylist, I can confidently say Spring/Summer 2026 offers something for every wardrobe and personality. I have read that trainers may be less "on trend" this season but I think this might be something more relevant to the runways. In the real world, trainers offer a practical solution for style - blending style, comfort and versatility. Whether you’re curating a polished look or adding a playful twist, there are a pair of shoes out there that make it easy to step out with confidence and flair.
