Stylish Flat Shoes to Elevate Your Look - No Trainers Required

I do love a pair of trainers. They're comfy, available in so many colours and now thankfully, are quite acceptable to wear for a variety of occasions. However, there are times when a trainer isn't quite right or you just don't fancy wearing trainers.

Sometimes we just want to wear a stylish, flat shoe - to the office, out for lunch with friends or to a smart do. Personally, my days of wearing heels are very much numbered (as much as I still love to look at them!) and I often need to wear insoles which work well with a flat shoe. This season we're still seeing lots of loafers, ballet pumps and Mary-Janes in the shops - so, there's something for everyone.

Have a look at my picks of the latest shoes to elevate your look. A few things to point out first:
  • I've deliberately kept away from anything with a heel so that these options can be worn for walking
  • I've not included anything which remotely looks like a trainer
  • All the images are clickable if you want to go straight to the link to find out more.

Finally, I thought I'd give you a few reminders if and when you're next shopping for stylish, flat shoes.

  • Flat shoes are not known for their arch support. So, consider using specific insoles if necessary so that the shoes are as comfortable as possible for you.

  • Consider the material of the shoes - suede shoes have a gorgeous finish so remember to use protective spray on them so they endure our changeable weather.

  • If you find the sole of your shoes very slippy, a trip to the cobblers can be worthwhile to add a sole with grip. Of course this can also increase the life of your shoes.

If you've any thoughts on the shoes I've included here you can always drop me a line on lou@stylegalore.co.uk. Likewise if you've any questions, get in touch and I'll help if I can.

Thanks for reading and I hope you've enjoyed,

Lou x
